It all began with Carolyn Glick riding the ponies at Griffith Park in Southern California. Then in 1969 her parents divorced and she moved to Riverdale where she met her lifelong best friend Lyndee. Carolyn's mom hauled them to every 4-H show, gymkhana, playday, or junior rodeo in Fresno, Madera and Kings County when they were kids. From there, the rest is history. The passion for horses and barrel racing is still a huge role in both their lives.
In 1990, Carolyn began breaking and training race horses, mostly Thoroughbreds. She loved riding race horses but still loved barrel racing. So, she started breeding a few of her mares to running Quarter Horses to raise prospects for barrel racing. In 1999, Carolyn was asked to be the Ministry Co-ordinator for NCBRA in our area, which is now the California Christian Barrel Racers in our area, which got her back involved with barrel racing.
Carolyn married Eddie Mendes in April of 2002 and in August of 2003 they were blessed with their son, Matthew. Because of her involvement training race horses, her husband wanted them to also be owners and breeders of Thoroughbreds. So their herd has expanded to Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses, and Paints all "athletes bred to run".
So if you are in the market for a nice Barrel Horse, Carolyn has many young horses available from Yearlings to Seasoned Barrel Horses. If it's Racing you perfer, she has Yearlings, Two Year Olds in Training or Three Year Olds at the Racetrack.
